Two villages in Hpruso Township, Karenni State, came under attack by military junta suicide drones at around 8:30 p.m. on November 4, residents reported.
Besides the suicide drone attack, the junta also fired artillery, damaging some homes in the villages, according to residents.
“They fired on two villages. The attack damaged some homes and punctured zinc roofs. A shell also landed near a cattle pen in our area,” one resident said.
Residents said the junta frequently shells villages and carries out drone attacks. Because attacks have also targeted areas where civilians are present, people are worried about going to work on their hillside farms, they said.
“These days, we go to the farm every day. Some people are harvesting and threshing rice. We’re very afraid,” another resident said.
Residents and IDPs said that despite the security risks, they are still going to their farms and harvesting their crops.
The junta, which controls the Demoso–Hpruso Union Highway, has reportedly been carrying out artillery and drone attacks on nearby farmland, villages, and IDP camps
