A 50-year-old man from Demoso was killed by a State Administration Council (SAC) airstrike in the township of Karenni State on the morning of January 12.

“He had returned from an IDP (internally displaced person) camp and was cleaning up his home when the jet fighter bombed Daw Tama Nge ward,” a male source from the ward living in a IDP camp told Kantarawaddy Times. He didn’t know if there were any other casualties as a result of the attack.

According to locals, there wasn’t any fighting reported where the jet fighter carried out the airstrike in Demoso Township that destroyed several houses.

Most residents fled in the spring of 2021 when clashes occurred in the ward.

Connectivity issues in the area have prevented Kantarawaddy Times from providing more details about the airstrike.
