A drone strike by the military targeted a village in eastern Hpruso Township (Kaylyar), Karenni State, at around 3 p.m. on October 18, according to residents.
Four bombs were dropped from the drone, damaging two residential houses.
“The drone came twice and dropped four bombs. Quite a few houses were hit,” a male resident told Kantarawaddy Times.
Residents say the junta frequently uses drones to conduct reconnaissance and drop bombs on villages and upland farms in Kaylyar Township.
“Drones are hovering around almost every day, so of course we’re worried,” another male resident said.
Drone and bomb attacks by the junta on upland farms and civilian areas in Hpruso Township have been causing civilian casualties and damage to homes since June, according to available information.
