Military council forces carried out an aerial bombing attack on a location within Nanmekhon Township, Karenni State, at around 1:00 p.m. today, June 29. No casualties were reported, according to local residents.

A local resident told Kantarawaddy Times that two military council aircraft were involved in the bombing.

“Two planes came at once and dropped the bombs. Since it landed on the outskirts of the village, there were no casualties,” the resident said.

Military council forces struck at least two locations near and within Nanmekhon Township, with bombs landing and exploding on a hillside and near the village outskirts. The attack caused damage to homes, and further details are still being gathered.

This follows an earlier drone strike on June 24 at around 1:00 p.m., when military council forces bombed a village within Nanmekhon Township, killing two young children aged 6 and 10 after they were struck by bomb fragments.

A ground-based aid worker supporting displaced communities said residents are forced to manage their livelihoods amid ongoing security threats from the drone and aerial attacks.

“Since it’s farming season now, people want to return to their own villages and homes as much as possible — mainly for their livelihoods. But with these repeated bombings, it feels like their survival and their lives are caught in the same balance,” the ground-based aid worker said.

Currently, no armed clashes have occurred within Nanmekhon Township, and residents continue to live there. Military council forces conduct daily drone surveillance in the area, and this time carried out an aerial bombing attack as well.

Meanwhile, in nearby Moebye town along the Shan-Karenni border, revolutionary allied forces have reportedly attacked State Administration Council (SAC) troops in recent days, resulting in SAC casualties and the seizure of weapons and ammunition.
