The military regime aerially bombed at least four medical facilities in Pekon and Demoso townships where fighting has escalated between March and May.

A Mobye People’s Defence Force information officer said the regime was committing war crimes by deliberately targeting civilians: “They dropped bombs on hospitals and medical clinics even though there were no clashes in the area.”

U Banyar, director of the Karenni Human Rights Group (KnHRG), informed Kantarawaddy Times that these were Soung Hpwe Hospital in western Pekon Township in southern Shan State on 25 April, Dor Tamagyi Hospital in eastern Demoso Township on 24 March, and Saw Lon Village in Bawlakhe Township on 17 May. The latter two townships are in Karenni State.

“Two school buildings were also destroyed by airstrikes in Karenni State during these three months,” he said.

According to KnHRG, 200 houses were bombed or set on fire by regime soldiers during the same period.
