The State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi said on the day of her trip to Kayah State that the public themselves must try to develop their own state.
In today’s ceremony of Kayah State Day, the State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi gave a speech that “If you want to see your state development, you must do by yourself. Don’t rely and ask the government to do it. Don’t also rely and ask other people. Just do by yourselves.”
The archway opening ceremony of 68th Kayah State Day and Public Forum were held at the field of Kayah State Day Ceremony on January 15 and the State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi opened the archway of 68th Kayah State Day.
She also said that the award to Loikaw City as the ASEAN Clean Tourist City is because of the hardworking of union government, state government, and every persons of the public from the state.
Loikaw City is in the list to receive the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Standard Award on the Second ASEAN Clean Tourist City Standard Award Ceremony which will held in Brunei within January 2020.
There were over 50 cities competed from Myanmar, and Loikaw City from Kayah State, Dawei City from Tanintharyi Region, and Taunggyi City from Shan State were chosen as winner.
The Union President, U Win Myint, also exhorted to the public in his formal message to Kayah State Day that he would like all the public to collaborate to become one of the pleasant tourist state since Loikaw City receives the ASEAN Clean Toursit City Award.
In Kayah State Day Ceremony, the agendas are that the member of chairman taking the seat, giving salute to union flag, giving salute to martyrs, a song of “Ma Nyein Chan Lo Ma Pyit Bu; a peace song” by local ethnic youths, prime minister’s reading the formal message from union president to 68th Kayah State Day Ceremony, the closing speech of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi, taking group picture, the traditional dance from nine ethnic groups at the end and the State Counsellor and other participants also joined the dance.
We have known that the State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi met with the Karenni Youth Forces and other ethnic representatives at State Government Department. Besides, the public forum was also held at the state hall. After that, the State Counsellor has planted the Japanese Cherry Plant at Buddha Garden as memorial to the 68th Kayah State Day.
