Temporarily Lockdown of All Universities, Colleges, and Training Schools in Loikaw, & Exams are Suspended

In order to control the spread of coronavirus COVID-19, it says all the universities, colleges, training schools in Loikaw are temporarily lockdown.

The temporarily locked down schools are Nursing and Midwifery Training School (Loikaw), State Agricultural Institute (Deemawso), Computer University (Loikaw), Technological College (Loikaw), Education College (Loikaw), Government Technological Institute (Loikaw), and Loikaw University.Besides, it announced in universities’ statement that the ongoing mid-semester examination in every universities are suspended, and they will re-announce the exam date for the rest subjects.

“If this disease become stabilized, we will arrange to take the exam back. We are encouraging the children to comply exactly the instructions given by the Ministry of Health and Sports,” said U Soe Thein, the Registrar of Loikaw University.

It also says the boarding house monitors and members of university association will supervise the return of boarding house students to their homes.

According to the statement of Health and Sports Ministry, it is confirmed the first two persons have tested positive for coronavirus COVID-19 at 11:45PM, March 23, Myanmar.
