Loikaw Township Electrical Engineering Assistant Engineer U Than Kaday said the publics are free of charge to use up to 150 units of electricity power within April.
“The publics are free of charge using 150 units for household appliances and they will be free from electricity charge if its usage is within 150 units. If their usage is over 150 units, they can save 11,550 kyats for 150 units cost, and they only need to pay for the rest electricity charge and service.” said U Than Kaday, the AE of Loikaw township Electrical Engineering.
It said the embassy, United Nations and international organizations, and other businesses will not be exempted from this 150 units cost. The 150 units cost exemption is for only those who consume government electricity, and it does not include other private owned electricity distribution enterprises.
The AE of Shardaw Township Electricity Distribution Enterprise U Zaw Myo said the persons who use more than 150 units of electricity in April will be required to pay in May for the rest used units.
“150 is right. It is for April. The units used within April will be collected in May. This month, April, electricity bill collection is for March.” he said.
The meter readers are required to go and read meters regularly, and the meter bills will be delivered within April. The free charged bill amount will be deduced in Electric Meter Office, and the rest over used units’ cost will be charged and collected at usual rate.
The National Level Center Committee of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Prevention, Control, and Treatment announced on April 6th, 2020 that the publics, religious institutions, and local social organizations are free of charge from electricity power for household electrical appliances up to 150 units within April 1st to April 30th due to the emergency prevention of coronavirus.
